Africans need not to deny their responsibility when it comes to analyzing the causes that explain why their continent is not industrialized. Putting all the blame on exogenous forces does not seem to be a realistic and pragmatic attitude when it comes to tackle sensitive issues like industrialization. But without ignoring the exogenous forces that may prevent Africa from actually developing and industrializing, it would be surreal to believe that industrialization/development will occur easily without Africans organizing themselves strategically, militarily, economically, culturally, technologically (…) to become the true masters of their destiny.

The impression we have, thanks to all kinds of media, is that the least competent people to solve Africa’s problems are Africans themselves! This would mean that this continent is lacking talents who could contribute to the improvement of social and economic conditions faced by hundreds of millions of Africans. The good news is that this is just an impression because the reality proves the contrary. Indeed, so many Africans are actively working hard to find solutions to their problems. And it is quite amazing to see the number of solutions they have conceived/developed and manufactured as prototypes.

Unfortunately, solutions developed by Africans often seem to be underestimated by Africans themselves. This is another sad reality that Africans cannot deny. Consequently, there is an elite that still believes that the physician (expert) must come from the outside, and that the physician will prescribe the appropriate drug. But if the sick does not drink the medicine prescribed by the physician, he is for sure not going to be cured, right! But what if the physician prescribes a pill which was developed to cure patients located in a specific geographical area which is not Africa? Consequently, Africa has been taking pills with subversive side effects for so many years; and it is hard to think that this continent is actually industrializing or that it will even industrialize one day if it continues in this manner. If Africans choose to keep on taking such pills instead of developing their own, whose fault is this - objectively speaking?
