African artists are like African inventors, innovators or scientists. They have talent. However, we barely hear about them, especially on Western Media! Why so! Actually, should Western media value African artists or should African media value African (Black) artists?

In 2010, I was fortunate to meet Claudy Khan, in Pointe-Noire (Congo-Brazzaville). I was amazed by the structure of his painting and attracted by the uncanny conveyed by most of his paintings. Truly amazing! I have since then kept his name in my mind.

You look at Claudy’s paintings and you start travelling in a mysterious, though, accessible world because of his capacity to generate 3D images of his characters. Not to mention the precision and the quality of the colors he chooses to magnify his paintings. I don’t know if he is a lover, but he definitely loves African women. I mean he likes painting them in a way that amplifies their beauty and virtues. Wonderment!

Claudy Khan is from Congo-Kinshasa and his genius reminds us why ancient African artists designed outstanding monuments in ancient Egypt, ancient Ethiopia or ancient Nubia – to name only a few empires / civilizations. Beauty is colorless. Nonetheless, let us emphasize beauty generated by African artists so that they can inspire not only other African artists or painters, but also African writers, scientists, inventors, leaders, etc.
