Author Invited to Talk About Science and Technology in Africa
Rudy Massamba, author of the book “Debunking Myths around African Talent” and promoter of website Kumatoo.com, was invited to share his views on the role of Africans in Science and Technology on Africanews’ Morning Call.
The Lebombo bone (at least 35,000 years old) is the oldest mathematical instrument, on earth, that was found in Tanzania. Its 29 markings suggest that it was used to track the lunar cycle, among others. Today, Africans do manufacture, in Africa, science and technology related equipment such as: cars, aircraft, robots, software, 3D printers, rockets, eco-friendly power generating systems, and much more. So the prototypes do exist. With proper funding, it should be possible to mass-produce these prototypes in assembly lines designed and manufactured by Africans, in Africa, so as to limit the importation of capital goods and the like.
